A quality limo service will always be more than happy to show you its limo fleet and checking the car for yourself is just a good idea. One of the first things you should check for is the license number. Every limo should have a state-licensed number on the front and rear bumpers to show that the limo can be legally operated. Sedan limos are also required to have a “livery” plate, so be sure to check for one.
After you have done this, then you can focus on the physical condition of the vehicle. If the limo has more than 200,000 miles on it, then you might want to ask for a limo with less. Large, modified vehicles such as limos don’t age as nicely as a normal car, and are more likely to break down, especially if they have been driven as much as 200,000 miles. Check the outside of the limo for obvious scrapes or dents, and also check to see if the rear air-conditioning and lighting is working properly. If it’s a hot summer night and you are sharing the back of a limo with 8 other people, you are going to want that A/C to work. Also, the inside of the limo should be as clean as humanly possible and it should smell nice. If the limo has a funky or musty smell, then you should probably move on to the next one.
